Privacy policy

Little Paper is made for kids 4 to 8, so it is built to collect nothing. This page explains what that means for the app and for this website.

The short version

  • Little Paper has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
  • The app sends nothing to us. Drawings, progress and settings stay on your device.
  • Sharing and purchases sit behind a grown-up check, and Apple handles every payment.
  • This website sets no cookies of its own and has no analytics or ads. Web game scores stay in your browser.
  • We never ask for personal information. If you email us, we use your message only to reply.

Who we are

Little Paper is made by Paperbub, the maker of Little Paper (“we” or “us” on this page).

This policy covers the Little Paper app for iPhone and iPad, which is coming soon to the App Store, and this website at paperbub.com/little-paper, including its free web games.

Questions about privacy go to hello@paperbub.com.

What the app collects: nothing

Little Paper doesn’t collect personal information, and it doesn’t send anything to us. It has no advertising, no analytics SDK, no public community, no camera, no microphone and no server of ours. No name, birthday, email or photo is needed, and there is no account to create.

The app doesn’t track you or your child across other companies’ apps or websites. Its App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected.

Its privacy manifest, the file Apple reads to check what an app does with data, declares no tracking and no data collected. It also names two everyday system features that Apple asks apps to explain when they use them: saving the app’s own settings, and the time since the device was switched on, which the app uses to pace sounds and time the break reminder. Both stay on the device.

What stays on the device

Pictures, coloring drafts, puzzle progress, outfits and preferences stay in this installation of the app on this device. We can’t see them.

Normal device backups may include them. Little Paper has no cloud backup of its own.

Removing the app or losing the device can remove this work. To delete everything Little Paper keeps, remove the app; older device backups may still hold a copy. To keep a picture, a grown-up can share a still copy first (see Help and support).

Sharing, links and the grown-up check

Only the grown-up area opens the share sheet. There, after the grown-up check, a grown-up can choose a picture and share a still copy. The copy leaves the app for the destination you pick, and that destination’s own privacy practices apply. Opening the share sheet doesn’t send anything by itself. Check the preview for personal details before you share.

If you choose Save Image, iOS asks once whether Little Paper may add pictures to Photos. That permission only lets the app add a picture; it doesn’t let the app see your photo library.

The few links that leave the app, such as Apple’s help pages, also sit behind the grown-up check.

The grown-up check is a math question that keeps settings, sharing and purchases apart from play. It locks again when you leave the app, close the grown-up area or after 90 seconds without a touch. It is not identity verification or legal parental consent.

Purchases and Apple

Little Paper Pro, an optional purchase that is coming soon with the app, is bought through Apple. Apple handles the payment and we never see your payment details. The app only asks this device’s App Store whether Pro is on.

Apple runs the App Store, payments, Family Sharing, Ask to Buy and iCloud Backup under Apple’s privacy policy.

If you have allowed it in your device’s settings, Apple may share crash reports and app usage statistics with app developers, including us. These reports don’t include names, contact details or drawings.

This website and its web games

Our pages set no cookies and use no analytics, ads, social buttons or trackers. There are no third-party fonts, CDNs or embedded videos, maps or chats: everything is served from paperbub.com.

The web games keep best scores, progress, the last choices made in each game and the sound setting in your browser’s local storage on this device. They are never sent to us. To remove them, clear this site’s data in your browser.

If you pick light or dark mode in the menu, your browser remembers that choice on this device too. The home page also remembers, for the open tab only, that its opening scene has played, so it is shorter the next time. That note is gone when the tab closes.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, on Cloudflare Workers. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes basic request data, such as your IP address, your browser type and the page you asked for, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. If its security checks need to tell a person from a bot, Cloudflare may set a short-lived security cookie for that check. We don’t use request data to identify or follow anyone. Cloudflare’s privacy policy explains its part.

When you email us

If you write to hello@paperbub.com, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply to you.

We don’t add you to a mailing list, and we don’t sell or share your message, apart from the email services that deliver and store it. You can ask us to delete your emails at any time.

Please don’t send us personal details about your child.

Children’s privacy

Little Paper is for kids 4 to 8. We don’t collect personal information from children. The app and the web games have no accounts, sign-ups, chat, forms or ads, and they send nothing to us.

We wrote this policy with children’s privacy laws in mind, such as COPPA in the United States and the GDPR’s rules for children in the European Union and the United Kingdom.

Our email address is for grown-ups. If you think a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Your choices and rights

The app and the website don’t collect personal information, so we hold nothing about you or your child from them. There is nothing for us to look up, correct or delete there.

  • To delete what the app keeps, remove the app from the device.
  • To delete web game scores, clear this site’s data in your browser.
  • For emails you sent us, ask for a copy or ask us to delete them.

We don’t sell personal information or share it for advertising. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date at the top before the change takes effect.
